Slab Splashbacks

Splashbacks offer a quiet luxury that we just can't say goodbye to. Not only is this a practical addition to any kitchen (grease marks and peeling walls are a definite no-no), but they offer an aura of splendour to fit in with any kitchen design. Slabs of natural stone or engineered quartz offer an eye catching feature as well as a durable solution to easy maintenance in the kitchen.

Earthy tones and materials

Shades of green, blue, brown and rust have dominated the kitchen scene this year. The all-white-everything phase is officially out, with home-makers opting for more inviting and warm features. The desire to keep your home as basic as possible in hopes of achieving a high resale value is being swapped out for creating a cosy and lived-in feel. Think wooden worktops and cabinets, natural stone, earthy tones, soft rugs, leafy plants...(you get the idea).

Wooden cabinetry

Leading on from the point above, wooden cabinetry is seeing it's well-deserved share of the limelight this year. Adding both an organic and natural element to the kitchen, wooden features also offer durability and style, whilst being easily maintained and even variable (thanks to it's ability to be stained, painted, sanded back and so on). Wooden cabinetry offers a timeless and sophisticated addition to any kitchen.

Multifunctional sinks

Functional sinks with built-in accessories, such as chopping boards, colanders and drying racks, make time spent in the kitchen easier. Not only do multifunctional sinks add a modern touch to kitchens, but they are a great space saving option for smaller kitchens, too.

Induction cooktops

Energy efficient and sleek, induction cooktops are gaining popularity among homeowners this year. Some induction cooktops offer more freedom when cooking as you are able place pots and pans of any size on top, without worrying if you are on a particular 'hotspot' (for lack of a better term).

Pull-out appliances Concealed appliances that seamlessly blend into cabinetry offers a beautiful, seamless design, as well as freeing up precious benchtop space, too. Bespoke kitchen designs can incorporate the pull-out appliances feature to fit in with the space and function of individual preference. They are a fantastic addition to any kitchen (but again, can be extra beneficial for smaller kitchens too).

Drawers instead of lower cabinets Deep drawers offer better accessibility and organisation compared to traditional lower cabinets. Being able to pull out contents with ease, rather than items being lost at the back of cupboards or becoming difficult to retrieve, means working in the kitchen is easier and more comfortable. Available in a variety of heights and depths, deep drawers are a practical solution for every kitchen.

Custom rangehoods Beautiful, stand-out rangehoods are taking kitchens up a notch or two this year. Luxurious and eye-catching, this kitchen necessity has come leaps and bounds over the past few years. With the ability to have them built-in, pulled out, lit up, silenced etc., etc., means there is one to suit any kitchen imaginable. Gone are the days of the dreadful roar of the extractor fan - yay!

Statement lighting Using various types of lighting is the perfect opportunity to get creative with your kitchen design. Ambient, task and accent lighting offer both a practical and beautiful aesthetic to the kitchen. With the option to have lighting placed almost anywhere in the kitchen, you can guarantee to create the perfect mood and light the darkest corner when opting for a combination of light sources.

Beverage centres

Still or sparkling, strong or mild, neat or on the rocks. Whatever your tickle is, beverage centres are all the rage this year. A unique opportunity to showcase beautiful glassware, the beverage centre is a classy way to incorporate function and sophistication into your kitchen design.

Remember, these trends combine style and functionality, ensuring your kitchen remains both beautiful and practical.

Will you be adding any of these into your kitchen design?
